The
shortest route for those coming by car from the south is either
by the M6/A74/M8/A82 to Crainlarich and Oban, or via Stirling and
Callander to Crainlarich if travelling from the east coast. Whether
you reach Oban by road or rail, the next stage is to take the car
ferry to Craignure.
Alternatively,
coming by way of Glencoe, Ballachulish Bridge and Corran Ferry,
you can use the Lochaline - Fishnish car ferry: since this cannot
be booked, at busy times you should not travel too late in the day.
Timetables and other information can be obtained from Caledonian
MacBrayne (Oban), Telephone 01631 562285. If you plan to take your
car onto the Oban - Craignure ferry you should book both ways during
the summer.
Which
ever route you take towards Scotland's beautiful west coast you
will pass through some of the most spectacular scenery in Britain.
In order to give us time to prepare for new visitors, we normally
ask that departures should not be later than 10am and arrivals not
earlier than 2pm Saturdays
